Start Where You Are

This is a workbook, not a course. There is nothing to complete and no score at the end. What follows is a sequence of questions designed to be sat with — some for five minutes, some for five years.

Work through it in one long sitting or one section a week. Answer in fragments if full sentences feel like too much. The point is contact with your own thinking, not a tidy document.

There's no right way to do this.

Personal Vision

Before the spreadsheets and the strategy, there is the life you actually want to be living. Start here — with the person, not the plan.

Act as a thoughtful life coach. I’ll paste my raw notes about the life I want. Reflect back the three themes you hear, name any contradictions gently, and ask me five questions that would sharpen my vision. Do not give advice yet.

Using my answers, write a one-paragraph personal vision statement in my own voice — present tense, concrete, no corporate language. Then list the three values it implies.

Business Vision

Your business is a vehicle, not a destination. This section is about shaping work that funds the life you just described instead of quietly competing with it.

Here’s a description of my business and how I currently spend my week. Identify which activities create durable value, which are maintenance, and which are avoidance. Be direct.

Given my definition of ‘enough’ below, sketch the simplest business model that reaches it in 18 months. Show the offer, the audience, the price, and the weekly hours it realistically requires.

Awareness - Money & Time

I’ll paste a month of spending categories and a week of my calendar. Summarise the story they tell about my priorities, without judgement, in under 200 words.

Final Reflection

Read back everything you wrote. Then answer these three, quickly, without editing.

From everything I’ve written, propose five short mantras I could repeat daily. Each under nine words, in plain language, no affirmational clichés. Then tell me which one you’d choose for me and why.

YOUR MANTRA

I am allowed to build a life that fits.

Replace this with your own once you’ve found it.

Keep Your Vision Close

A vision you revisit daily becomes a decision filter. One you file away becomes a document.
